Job Title: IPS Employment Support Specialist - 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Home-based – Countywide Travel Required across Surrey

Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 - 5.00 - 37.5 hours per week - part-time hours also available

Salary: £28450- £29970 per annum

Start date: Role due to commence from September 2024

About the IPS Employment Support Specialist role

As an IPS Employment Support Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in helping people with mental health and disability support needs to achieve their own personal employment and local community inclusion goals. You will carry a caseload of job seekers, employing hands on support using an IPS support framework to equip people with the tools they need to support their mental health and transform their lives (IPS specific training provided).

You will provide support to the Team Managers in the service to seek referrals and develop the service to ensure programme KPIs are met. The role calls for a combination of skills: the ability to empathise, the resilience and determination to seek out job opportunities, and the communication skills to engage employers and change perceptions around mental health.

Specific role objectives include:

  • Customer support
  • Development of working relationships

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage with individuals, Families/Carers and external partners
  • Experience of delivering job outcomes for disabled people
  • A kind and caring approach to supporting people
  • A willingness to learn
  • A passion for creating diverse communities
  • An ability to communicate well with others
  • An ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • Good knowledge of employment legislation and welfare benefits.
  • Good IT skills
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle*
